Student Outcomes
Thousands of students complete their educational programs at British Columbia's public universities, colleges, universities, and institutes each year. These institutions, along with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development (AVED), recognize that student feedback is important to maintaining a high-quality, relevant post-secondary education system. Follow-up surveys attempt to contact former students by telephone after they complete all, or a significant portion, of their program. The surveys ask former students what they have done since leaving and if they were satisfied with the education they received.
Survey results are used:
- To support decision-making and program evaluation by AVED,
- By institutions to evaluate and improve program offerings and services,
- To help prospective students make informed choices, and
- To enhance understanding of the education and labour market.
